This page is about the ethical part of the lab. The precautions made by the lab and what you have to take into account when sending in your ethical approval.

The lab has some devices that can record audio and or video. By default the microphones are disabled and the cameras are pointed to the wall. If the devices are used during research there is a sign that will be yellow if they are used. With below this sign an explanation. The internet traffic generated on the networks designated for this are always captured and stored on a university data cluster. So be aware that when you or your participant connects to the WIFI network called “IoT Cyberlab Zi2070” all internet traffic will also be stored. Also make this known to the participant and make sure the forget the network after your research.

When doing your ethical request be sure the mention the stuff from the precautions. So the approver has some context about the made precautions.

You can request old data from the non isolated network, but this is most likely gathered in a non research context. So be aware of this. The data should not contain any personal information.
